Oracle 9i is indeed available for linux windowws hp-unix and IBM aix thats what oracle guys told me................but they are all betas the product is due to be launched in mid 2001..........i am a beta tester for the databse.........in case you would like to be a beta tester plaese go to technet and you can download the relevant documentation and the software to...........i ahve taken the cd from them but at home i have a win nt machine with linux as dual boot with about 128 MB ram running oracle 8i i ahvent tried 9i as the docs say you require 256 MB for running 9i.hope thsi info helps all of us.

I searched the technet site but I dont find any beta software available for 9i can you give us the link in this thread so that we can download the oracle 9i database beta product so that we can get used to the New emerging technology.

Yeah you guys r right i got the cd wirth me bcoz my comany is a beta site for 9i.............i checked technet myself............currently they dont have any info on 9i except for this link which contains a few white papers..............
Pando and sam were right...............Oracle 9i database runs at present runs only on solaris......for beta sites..........the requirements i mentioned hardware and software.....were for oracle9i application server....................its difficult i guess keepin up with oracls technology...........
