Hi,
I am trying to create a test database and want to connect to the database. I have already installed ora8.0.5 with the default database (orcl)
1) could you please give me steps involved in creating a new database (name=oct) and connect to it.
2) At times I may have to connect to the default database ORCL also.
On the same server, If I have accomplish 2 databases and switching over, How do i do it.
You suggestions helps me a lot

You can use dbassit to create the db. Is this Unix or NT??

Is there a dbassist with 8.0.5? I thought you had to run the createdb scripts, no?

If you are using NT, then
START-->ORACLE for Windows NT --> Oracle Database Assistant
