Oracle 8.1.6 on Windows 98

I have installed Oracle 8.1.6 on Windows 98 successfully.

Do I have to run catalog.sql and catproc.sql????

If you created DB by default installation then no need.

Check it by connecting as sys user query dba_ tables etc.(this is for Catalog.sql checking)

Try to execute a simple PL/SQL block from SQL.(this is for Catproc.sql checking)

Rekha, did you get to lock the previous thread on this topic? If so o.k, other wise I'm kind of curious to know who gets to lock the thread, without posting the reason for closing the threads.

If it was any moderators, I would like to see who and why it was closed.

Jmodic was asking who had closed and you were under impressiont he user would have done it.The solution is in the above link if the person is the same you are now asking is.
