Question: What is the composition of SGA

Answer: The SGA is made up of fixed size, variable size ( shared Pool ), DB Block Buffers and Log Buffer.

In oracle you can get the values from

Fixed SGA : V$SGASTAT
DBBuffers : V$SGASTAT
Redo Buffers : V$SGASTAT
Variable size : Rest of the values in V$SGASTAT which are 33 in O7 and 36 in O8.

run a "select * from v$sgastat" to see whats included.
