    Oracle & Perl

We are currently on Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris 8 and want to upgrade to Oracle 9.2. We are currently utilizing Perl 5.8.

I am trying to find out whether this version of Perl will be compliant with the new database version? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Depending on you use your client, you might have to re-compile the DBD module. For example, if you stick with the 8.1.7 client to access the 9.2 databases you won't have to re-compile. If you want to use the 9.2 client, you will have to re-compile.

My Sys Admin and I could not get DBD to work with Oracle 9.2 but could have been the juds who couldn't get it to work (no problems with 8.1.7 though).

Jeff, could you confirm that you are indeed using DBD with 9.2 on Solaris?

absolutely. I am running all my perl with the 9.2.0.1 client.
