    Improve Application Performance

With a heavily distributed workforce, collaboration is consistently a challenge. Issues such as WAN latency and bandwidth congestion often limit application performance. We use a wide range of applications within our business, but our key applications include SAP both in GUI (fat client) and intranet (thin client) modes.

Can someone help to improve the application performance?

Assuming for your note you already know your bottleneck is network I would say the answer is crystal clear, get more bandwidth.

In the hipothetical case you don't know where your bottleneck issue is, you have to find it... processing power? network? application?

We know that our bottleneck is network, but is this the only alternative to get more bandwidth??

    Any substitute, if exists??

    Stuartreid,

I think we are sailing in the same boat, as we are facing similar issues.

We had done analysis of the market place. We considered number of products, but primarily focussed on Cisco and Riverbed.

Yes. Alter your application so it uses less bandwidth.

Were you able to evaluate results from analysis of the market and products like Cisco and Riverbed?

If yes, please share your observations.

There are tools available which compresses the data and that way you may get certain benefit. Once i used redline tool for this. But you need to evaluate according to your need.
