USER taking long time to connect from local ...
Hi,
In one of my prod database, i have received a complaint from app team that two particular users are taking long time to connect. As a first step i tried to connect from local server and found that they are taking 4-5 minutes to connect. Others users like sys, system, other application users are able to connect in a flash.
Any idea why they are taking long time to connect from local server?
I see few error messages in sqlnet.ora file but I believe they matter when the connection is slow over network.
Fatal NI connect error 12170.

trace the session, find out what is happening and stop guessing

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply.
It's not a frequesnt issue. It comes once in 3-4 months and when we restart the DB the issue will resolve.
Currently, the user is able to connect normally. Will it be helpful if i enable trace now?
Thanks,
Vijay Tummala

Oracle trace is good but not good enough to show an issue from the past when there are no issues in the present.
