Hi,
At the command prompt enter the following command :

c:\>rman target="sys/sys@prod" rcvcat="rman/rman@grman"

RMAN>create catalog ---catalog created

RMAN>register database ---information about the target
database is stored in the recovery
catalog from the controlfile of the
target database;

RMAN>list incarnation of database --- check whether the
target database is
registered
