The Legato Storage Manager (LSM) that is included with 8.1.5, but perhaps not with 8.1.6, is not suitable for my configuration.

If the tape drive is part of the server, then it is fine. Otherwise, in case of a network connection to the tape drive, a different license needs to be purchased from Legato.
