No, but if you have installed oracle enterprise edition, then you have this option of opening multiple channel. Depending on the database size, you open the chanels. Say to start with that you open 5 channels and doing a backup and it had taken 2Hrs then you can increase the number of channel and reduce the time frame. If you have a standard edition of oracle, then you would only be able to open one channel at a time.
