If you just mean version control there are a lot of available systems. CVS, SCCS, RCS, etc. None of them work directly with oracle but if you want version control on (I'm assuming) a non-MS platform they're all good choices.

I haven't had more than just version control experience with Source Safe so I don't know if it does anything else.

Oh one additon. CVS has tools so you can access it through the Web, or a Windows machine, in addition to the host server.
