Hardware configuration to run Oracle 9i DB
Greetings,
Hi recently, i was tasked to upgrade our current Oracle 9i DB Server. I intend to configure the new server with the following specs,
1) Running Win2003 Ent Server (32bit) & Oracle 9i DB Server
2) Dual Processor
3) 4GB RAM (or maybe more)
4) Having 3 Raid Controller Cards with 3 Raid settings,
i) Raid 1 -> For OS
ii) Raid 1 -> For Log Files
iii) Raid 0+1 (6 harddisks) -> For Oracle Datafiles
Does this help to enhance performance if i separate the log files & OS to different raid controller card?
Basically, this is what i plan to create for the new serve. Appreciate any advise whether this is workable or there is any modification that i need to make. THanks!
