As part of school, I just happened to read a case study today on why it doesn't make sense to "legalize and tax" drugs. Prohibition is so much easier to implement. It all boils down to "supply and demand" my friend
So what was the reason behind it? I don't see how legalize and tax could possibly be more expensive than the "war" on drugs. It even ought to be easier, when you consider the time and effort wasted all over the country on this.
