Rollback segment offline

What causes a rollback segment to go offline by itself?

ALL rollback are in your INITPROD.ORA ?

I have never seen this happening all by itself.
could you elabotate ?
Is there any info in the alert log ?

It's impossible that rollback segments go offline by themselves.
May be what happen is this:
You rollback segment are online.
When shutdown your db and than startup it again you find them offline because in you init<sid>.ora you have not specified in the rollback_segment parameter what rollback segments are to put online when starting up the instance.
Try to check it into your init<sid>.ora.
