I don't think so. The errors from UTL_SMTP only tell you that the mailhost has rejected it (or was unavailable). Once the mailhost has the email, it may (according to the retry policy) attempt to send it over a very long period of time - your Oracle process may have gone away before it decides to give up. You will have to look for "undeliverble" messages sent by the mailhost to the "From:" address.
