Try changing the environment variable for temp.
On the desktop right click on my computer>properties>advanced tab>environment variables.
Chane the value of TEMP C:\temp to c:\DIR_NAME or E:\DIR_NAME and TMP c:\temp to c:\DIR_NAME or D:\DIR_NAME
Not sure about XP but works on NT and 2000.
This way you can make oracle use some other directory as temp dir.
