help needed in date

i have a table containing 1200+ records.

My requirement: i need to find all the rows which has date older than 7/3/2003 and then delete them.

can any1 tell me how to do this using sql query?

to view i know:

select * from std_detail where time_value < to_date('7/3/2003','dd/mm/yyyy')

but not getting the deletion part implemention?
