how to increase the dba_cache_size? what are the steps to follow .

Are you using an spfile or a pfile? If you are using an spfile then a simple alter database will work. Otherwise you will need to manually edit your pfile, then shutdown and restart your database. You might want to look up the commands on tahiti.oracle.com.
