hi freaks,
While installing Oracle 8.1.7 server with Oracle Installer. An Error Message came up, describing that the file /usr/local/java doesn't exist, and asked whether to Abort, Retry or Ignore the error.
The installer program is right, the file does not exist in that directory. But
it does exist in /usr/bin/java. (This is tested for Mandrake Linux only)
It is possible to continue the installation process by klicking Ignore, but we have not tested yet which additional errors could follow.
The java enviorment variable is set. Why does Oracle this not seen.
At the end another question. So it is enough, if i make a link under /usr/local/java to the right path /usr/bin/java.
Thanks gurus
Regards
Thomas Schmidt
