Logical and physical database design
Database capacity planning
Ensure database integrity, reliability, and availability
Disaster recovery strategy and planning
Security planning and enforcement
Perform backup/recovery
Performance fine tuning
Provide day-to-day support for database implementations in test and development environments
Design database monitoring and operational processes, procedures, and standards that measure database activity
Apply patches and upgrade Oracle 8i databases

Experience with terabyte class storage hardware/software

Experience using RAID configuration for maximum performance and reliability
Familiarity with Java development discipline and tools is a plus
Familiarity with object-relational mapping is a plus
