is that possible that for all status from logfile in V$log,
its status is active, so current log can't being switch?
-
I think I faced once when all logs were active but that was because I had 2 group redo log only and there were quite a lot of activities, it basically means that the checkpoint for those log is not done yet. I cant remember but it did not stop me from switching logs and it went to inactive after a while or after an ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE I cant remember...

When there is a status of ACTIVE it means that the checkpoint for that log hasn't completed yet and it is still required for recovery. I'd check the sizing of the redo logs and increase them if need be.

No Generally It is not recommended to do so. If the checkpoint is not occur. otherwise you will not get the transaction data for that perticular logfile in archived log.

Your talking about the ALTER DATABASE SWITCH LOGFILE command right. And I agree, switching the logfile will not help, I still think the issue is sizing of redo logs and the volume of redo activity.
