rollback segs

Running 8.1.6 on AIX:

I'm a little confused! When trying to open my database I get the message: rollback segment RBS01 doesnt exist.
I now cant get the database open so I cant take the rollback segment offline or drop it.

I can view v$rollstat and get the following results:

From this it seemd the current extent and block are 4.2 GB where as the rollback segement size is 4MB ???????

I guess my question is can anyone shed any light on what is going on?

Delete RBS01 from init.ora, startup the db. Try to bring RBS01 online, manually or just drop it.
