Thread: db_block in SGA

    Just a clarification,
    The data block in a database contains rows.Suppose i am selecting a singe row from the data block, will the entire block be read into the data block of databuffers in SGA (i.e all the rows contained in the data block of database?

    Pl. let me know,

    Hi,
    Yes,if u select a single row from a table Oracle will load the entire block into the database buffer cache in the SGA.U dont know in which datablock Oracle will store the data but for performance point of view it is helpful.In case of any doubts please be free to ask to me at rohitsn@altavista.com
