    All,

at our company we're using TOAD to connect to Oracle and perform most of our operations.
Lately we're using it more intense (as we're learning every day ;-) ), and it crashes regularly.
Therefore we'ld like to use another tool which does more or less the same thing (display objects, gui's, ...), -prefarably free???-, but I don't know of any.

Can you please tell me which tool you're using?

    Thx,

    Rik

I'm afraid that FREE replacements have only for linux.
linux replacement for TOAD is TOra, and you can find it on
    freshmeat.net

I can't believe jdorlon missed *this* post.

He is the creator of EZSQL (www.ezsql.net). while I haven't yet had the pleasure of using it, it is certainly a cheaper alternative.

    Hi Chris,

I had a busy morning, so I just hadn't made it to DBASupport.Com yet! Y'all let me know if I get too obnoxious about plugging it, the last thing I want to do is offend anyone. I try to only bring it up when I think is relevant.

Yeah, check out EZSQL. It has a nice long 60 day trial period now! :-)

yeah, they don't come any easier than that! :-)

Rik, if you try it out and there is some function that you need which isn't in there, send me an email at john@ezsql.net. In most cases, I am happy to add user requests.

    Hello John,

I have tried it and have liked it but was wondering whether you ever considered showing sessions and locks on your software??

    Thanks,

    Hi Nirasha,

Yes you can see that stuff already...

For session info, click 'Tuning', then 'Stats by Session'

For Locks, click 'Tuning', then 'Locks'

    jdorlon,

Send me an email at webmaster@dbasupport.com with details about your product so that I can try to put it in the newsletter so that more people know about it.

    uday
