How to get the table and column names?

Hi!

How can I get an Oracle database to tell me the names of it's tables? What about the names of the columns in a table?

Please logon to the database as SYSTEM

-- To check all object names, owner, object_type, status
select *
from dba_objects
/

-- To check column name, table_name,owner
select *
from dba_tab_columns
/
