Hi,
I have some tasks scheduled on my Windows NT 4 which take a export of the database.
Whenever the tasks get executed I get the following error.
Dr. watson error for windows NT
An application error has occurred and an application log is being generated.
exp80.exe
Exception:access Violation (0xC0000005) Address 0x00403886.
Its only this task which gives a problem others work fine.for example the task which takes a cold back up of the database runs fine.
Thanks

This is a bug with the Oracle import/export utility. You get this error if a schema being exported/imported has a name greater than 19 chars or so. It has been fixed in 8.1.7. Look up their bug list.
-
But it doesnt even start exporting the schema's. The moment it tries to execute the export utility it gives this error.
Moreover I dont have any schemas whos name is greater than 19 characters.
Thanks

Are you trying to export the full database or only specific schemas, b'coz I know of a bug in 8.1.5 which triggered the same error only for schema level export/import.

No, I am trying to do a full export of all the schemas using
c:\>exp80.EXE system/fiftydollaroil@Manda full=y file= sid6\dlysid6.dmp consistent=y log=sid6\expLogSid6.log
Thanks

Does it crash if you execute it from a command line or only from a scheduled task?
If so, you might be able to put the command line argument into a batch file and execute the batch file from the scheduler. Probably not the proper fix, I'm just taking a stab at it.
-
It works from the command line as well as from within the batch file.
Only when you schedule it does it give the Dr. Watson Error.
Thanks
Anurag
