    Hi: My db is us7ascii. Can i convert the db to utf8 and how?

    Yes you can,

    change the corresponding NLS_LANGUAGE parameter in the init.ora file by specifying the appropriate character set.

    check once again with the v$parameter whether it is immediate or deffered or needs shutdown and startup.
