Hi all Gurus , I have been working as a Dba for some time , and have prepared a checklist for the same . Now i want to review the same , all my databases are mission critical and need maximum uptime .( though i could manage to get cold backups in th night ).
    Here is my checklist .
    In th morning .
    1. Check th backups are successful ( there are scrips to fire for oprations ppl in th night ).open the databases , and check all the oracle processes are running fine ( i want to know ifthere any scrip that does that .. currently i use " ps -ef|grep ora ".)review the emails of reports in the morning .and review the log files .

    plan for the day .
    1. what are the scheduled events ( cronjobs).
    2. check the routine jobs..
    3. service4 requests if any and space management and user issues

    end of the day ..
    1. check any oracle processes are running properly .( In the night operations people use orashut id created for them and shuts the databases )
    2. check any co-ordination needed for the sceduled jobs .
    3. DID i leave my terminal looged in ;-)

now this makes it for the day .. I certainly would apprciate any sort of improvements in the same .

Suggestion: check alert_log and trace files (if generated) for fatal errors.
