    How would I find out the charecter set of my database, from the sqlplus ?? And what is unicode?? What is the best way to have database handle multiple currencies and charecters such as european, chinese and so on..

    To get the characterset of your database:

    SELECT * FROM nls_database_parameters WHERE parameter = 'NLS_CHARACTERSET';
