Thread: Problems with open Cursor Please Help

    Question

    Hello there,
    I have a problem with an Application and the reason lays on the open cursor.
    How much open cursor must declared in the init.ora. Are 1000 open cursor to
    much ???
    How eliminate i this problem with to much open cursor. If checked may
    Application and i have all cursor always closed. But in the v$open_cursor i saw that there are over 400 and in the reality they are about 1000 open Cursor.
    I now that they can come from java or from oracle direct, too, but can i close this open cursor on any way.
    I'm so sorry about my bad english, i hope you understand me.

    Hi.
    We had the same problem and solved it by switching to Oracle's latest jdbc drivers (8.1.7)
