Thread: controlfiles

    I'm recreating control files and i use the command
    'alter databse backup controlfile to trace '
    the question is, there is no size of the datafile. what will happen if i recreate them without the size of the datafiles;?

    Note that all files are there and not damaged.

    CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "SID" NORESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG

    it will reuse your datafile.

    You never mention size for controlfile. Thats system generated file(Oracle internal specfic) which has the information of all the files associated with the database.
