convert data after change character set

Hi,

I have changed the character set from US7ASCII to WE8ISO8859P1 for an 8i database by using:

ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET WE8ISO8859P1;

How can I convert the character code for the existing data?

I have recently done this (except we have changed the characterset to we8mswin1252, so that the euro dollar is catered for), and from what I understand the data that is already saved cannot be changed.

They would need to be loaded in again correctly.


There are ways to search for these characters though. If you need some code to do this let me know.
