    Hi friends,
The following message gets logged in the alert file frequently:
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Errors in file /tools/oracle/admin/dbname/bdump/p005_1361609.trc
    ORA-02391: exceeded simultaneous SESSIONS_PER_USER limit
    -----------------------------------------------------------

In the trace file , only details of system, node, instance name , process number, unix process id and session_id are mentioned.

It happens during inserts. The user who does the loading has infact 'DEFAULT' profile allocated , which has unlimited concrrent number of sessions defined.

What may be the reason for this error and how may I get rid of the entries in the logs?

I am running 8.1.6 on compaq tru64 with parallel server
    Thanks

Check your total sessions limit. By default it would be (1.1 * processes+ 5) You can increase the sessions limit. and this might solve the problem

I have 60 sessions in the init.ora file and at no time the sessions are more than 35 to my knowledge. Is there a way to find out out for sure if , more than this many sessions are trying to access?
    Thanks
