Thread: Unix Datafile to NT

    Urgent help requested ....
    I want to take the datafiles residing on Unix Maching (AIX)(Cold Backup), and want to use these datafiles to set up Database on NT (Personal Oracle).

    You can't switch platforms by just copying datafiles. The only way you can switch platforms is by using export/import.

    actually they will provide the cold backup of the db i need to setup on NT ?

    You can't switch platforms by using a cold backup of the datafiles. The only way you can switch platforms is by using export/import.
