    Question

    Hi all,

    I have 2 questions as follow:

    1. what's different in setting Oracle security between intranet and internet.

    2. How can i do encryption in Oracle?

    My oracle version is 8.1.5 and platform is Win NT.

    First is a big concept, In intranet think , Oracle Security Server,
    Extranet think Virtual Databases and Firewall.

    Oracle in 8.1.6 has an package for Encyption, i am not sure about 8.1.5, u can check.

    The package is DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT .

    Thanks for your reply!!! I will check the package of DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT.

    Also, i found "fined-grained control access" method. Can it solve my security problem in Internet & Intranet?

    P.S.: Sorry for so many problems to ask you. I'm a Oracle beginner and didn't touch it before.
