Thread: alert dba

    Hi,

    I want to write something that alerts the DBA (sends a page or email) when the database goes down. (before others start calling!!) What is the best way to do this ?

    Hi neelima.
    As per my knowledge goes in Oracle there is a package called dbms_alert which contains various functions and procedures u can use to send alerts whenever a problem arises .OR if u are using OEM then in that u can create fixit jobs which will automatically fix the problem when it takes place.In case of any help contact me at rohitsn@altavista.com
