Thread: upgrade question

    I have three database on a single NT server running 8.1.5.
    Assume they are called:
    database1
    database2
    database3

    If I want to upgrade to 8.1.7, do I have to set the
    ORACLE_SID to database1 finish the upgrade
    then set ORACLE_SID to database2 finish the upgrade
    then set ORACLE_SID to database3 in that order?
    I do not think that you can upgrade all the three SID's during just one single upgrade, since you have to specify the SID name during the upgrade.

    I have read all the docs on upgrade but it does not specify this.

    ASSUME you have only one SID on the sever and upgrade...
    when you are upgrading db1, forget you have db2 and db3 exists. I mean order is not important at all.

    You can't upgrade all at a time as you said you have to set ORACLE SID.

    So, You are on the right line. Go ahead...
