    Hi,
    I am running 8i(8.1.5) on AIX. I am looking for ORACLE DATA MIGRATION ASISTANT,
    but I can't seem to find it. I understand it's can be found through here:

    START-->PROGRAMS--->HOME_NAME-->MIGRATION UTILITIES-->ORACLE MIGRATION ASSISTANT

    but I could not find it.

    Any suggestions or help?

    C:\Oracle\Ora81\BIN\launch.exe C:\Oracle\Ora81\assistants\dbma dbmig.cl

    Replace C:\Oracle\Ora81 with your actual ORACLE_HOME

    OK, Sergey and the rest of the guys, Do I need to backup the Database or something before running this $ORACLE_HOME/bin/odma ?

    Is there any precaution that I have to take before running this $ORACLE_HOME/bin/odma ?

    Of course! Backing up database is a precautionary measure when you do migration/upgradation/other critical task. What if your migration/task fails for some reason ? There is noway you caould take database back to its prv state if you don't have backup. Floow Oracle Docs. There are detailed steps.
