    hai,

    i have installed ORACLE 8.1.6 successfully on HP-9000 server(64-Bit) and OS is HP-UX version 11. now i want to make the database to startup automatically when i start the server. i want the script how to make the database to startup automatically.

    you have to use a script under $ORACLE_HOME/bin which is called dbstart. Then in your run levels, I think /etc/init.d you have to add a scripts with appropriate name (check with your HP-UX SA) which calls dbstart, if I rememeber right Oracle is normally called at level 3

    However the dbstart script that comes in 8.1.6 is not working, check metalink and make changes to the script with vi or any editor you like...
