Thread: installation errors on Solaris 2.7

    Question

    When installing Oracle 8.1.6 EEdition, get the following error
    Solaris has all the patches.....any ideas??

    Installation of 8.1.6i gets to "Loading dialogs for Oracle intermedia
    comms...", 49% of the way inwhen the whole thing grinds to a halt and the screen where runinstaller was activated returns...

    Check your environment and make sure that you have set the ORACLE_BASE, ORACLE_HOME,PATH, CLASSPATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH set correctly. also make sure that your display had been set corrctly for your xterm. I think this would fix you the problem.
