Process Monitor terminated abnormally

Recently our oracle database encounter a process monitor terminated abnormally error, as a result the database was shutdown.

Anyone knows the possible cause of such error.

On such cases that you would have got one ora_pmon trace would have got generated. Check your alert log file to see where this had been generated. Check that trace file to, most of the times it would not be making any sense, but at times you can get the cause of it from the header. If you cannot make any sense out of it, create a tar and upload this file and the suppor twould be able to analyse this and give you the reason for the problem.
