Vimal,
Here Iam, If you don't have that so called color card everybody/every firm wants, all you can be is contractor. No matter howmany years you have been doing that stuff.

sreddy,
I apologize in advance for my ignorance. What are you talking about ("color card")?
I seriously have no idea what you're talking about. I would guess it has to do with race or immigration status, but I'd like some idea of what could hold a Sr. Oracle DBA back from getting a good position.
Thanks

kmesser,
I have just used that phrase with little bit frustration. I get somany calls everyday, when Iam open for a position and none of them can't offer me position with my status being a big problem. Of course! Iam little picky on taking the right position too. Just go back and see howmany postions they posted in this same forum by "busha". Did you see what they have mentioned there... I am fit for almost 80% of the positons he post but, they need permanent status, which I do not have and can't buy or get in couple weeks or couple of months or couple of years. Its a process that goes for years and IT world might change totally by that time, I get to that status and even I might not be dba by that time. Funny!
Its common scenario in US IT world. Governtmant/Medium-Big corporates don't prefer an immigrant whose status is not permanent. I do not know the reason but, that how its been...
Thats pretty much about the "color" card I was talking about.
Isn't it "Crazy". I dunno!
