    Unhappy

    Ive just done a clean install of Enterprise Server 8.1.7.0.0 on a W2k box, followed by running the Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant to create a repository. After all this the Enterprise Manager Server service refuses to start. The error is "ORA-12640 : Authentication adapter failed to initialise"

    what could the problem be ??

    thanks

    // *Cause: The function specified in the authentication table entry for the
    // service failed.
    // *Action: Enable tracing to determine the exact error.

    Check your environment setups and make sure that they had been specified correctly.

    Oracle8.1.7 contains some enterprise manager components. if thses are chosen to install , previous installed OEM won't work.
