Thread: Create DB from an Export

    Can anyone tell me what are the steps to create a database from an export.. I have already exported the db and it is of about 5GB. I want to recreate the same db in a different host.
    what are the limitations I should hit? The host is solaris at both ends and the version is 8.1.6. Thanks..

    1) IS it full export .
    2) It would not import users,roles
    3) Check for dependencies in procedures etc for objects across schema .
    4) Character set
    5 ) Rollback segments

    It is a full export of the entire database..
    When I import, what are the prerequisites since I will be ftping the dump file into another box where an instance is already existing? ..
