This is Rohit from India.I am an OCP.As per ur question in Oracle no one owns a role. When u create a role no one is the owner of the role.If u have any doubts please write to me at
I agree with Rohit, No one owns the Role.
If I don't have a choice to answer "NO ONE OWNS THE ROLE", I will prefer to use Creator of the role. Bacause, If I create the role, no one else can grant it except SYS.
I must agree with Rohit. I have just all exams for OCP 8.0 DBA and one of my question was exaclty this one but I have the answer nobody between all the others. At the end for the questions from Role Subject I have get 3 of 3. So!
I just took a quick look at Oracle 8 Admin TBT materials ...it specifically points out that one of the characteristics a role is that it's not owned by anyone and it's not in any schema.
Have you taken the database administration test for oracle 8?
Thanks everybody for the answer. I forget the one that is the answer. I think no one owes a role.
By the Way, in my test: if A create a role B with Admin option
B created a role C. If A drop B cascade, will the role be dropped. I made the mistake in this question after reviewing your answers above. The role will remain, am I right? Thanks for your anwer.
