Thread: Clone database from 805 to 8.1.5

    Besides doing an export from 8.05 DB, and import into 8i, is there a quicker way to clone a database be recreating a new control file? I am not sure it's possible.

    Since it is the different versions that you are currenlty thinking about doing, exp and import would only be the safe option to you. If they were to be of the same version then you could use the RMAN to replicate yor database or standby option to create a standby database.
