    Question

    We have a COTS application that HAS TO have version 7 client for it to work. (Platform NT)

    We have been asked to look into installing the Oracle client inside C:/Program Files folder rather than the default of C:/orant due to our business standards.

    Some tests have shown this to not work. We suspect that it is because of the space character in the folder name, but have not gotten any satisfactory answers from Oracle on whether this is actually the problem.

    Does anyone have real-world experience with this?
    Searches for relevant documentation in Metalink or Technet have come up empty.

    Can anyone help?

    Give the folder name max of 8 characters without space. Then try it one more time.

    Yes, you should be able to use c:\progra~1\.....
