    Hi, all
Could anybody let me know if there is anyway to release the lock? Or I have to wait for the transaction to finish and release automatically? Thanks for reply

Either you maight have to wait till the end of the transaction or kill the session which is performing that transaction.

    Hi,
In most of cases Oracle automatically manages the lock mechanism. In order to release the lock give COMMIT /ROLLBACK ,oracle releases the lock.In most extreme cases ,kill the session of the user holding the lock.PMON will come into the picture and rollback the uncomitted transactions and release the resources and locks held by the user.
In case of any doubts, write to rohitsn@htomail.com
