OEM 2.1 diagnostic pack.

anybody has experience OEM 2.1 diagnostic pack (capacity plan, trace manager etc)? I got error message showing java.net not work. Does this package need java compiler or other? I have already install java related component when install Oracle. Need your suggestion from experience

Please post the complete error.
I guess this is an Oracle Data Gatherer related problem.
Do you have it turned on in the target host?

In a Nutshell:
Data Gather & Datase management services need to be on..prior to this you need to configure the repository...

as far as your " does this need java compiler..." I am assuming that when you installed oracle you did configure the JAVA VM. that is all it needs...

things you should look for...

NT server:

management Service should be on
data gather service should be on..

ON UNIX com. oms & odg

Start the Data Gatherer with the following command:
> $ vppcntl -start

To start the OMS:
oemctrl start oms

Checking the status is
oemctrl status oms

Stopping is
oemctrl stop oms

if the above services are on..that means you shouldn't be able to execute any management server tools...also if you get an error after you had made sure that all these above criteria are fine...check your java enviroment...make sure you JAVA VM is set right...

I turned on DATA GATHERER. now most functions in this package worked. Only capacity plannr not work. When I log in and click the target database DB, got following error:


VTP-0093 error getting collection cartridg
VTD-0076 unable to communicate with DATA Gatherer for service DB
Not collected to DATA Gatherer
Thread[VTD:admin:DB:Server:2,5,]

I click continue, then got another error message:

Data Gatherer client internal error

java.lang.ArrayindexOutofBoundsException:312
(and some other more message)
