    Hi,

For the OPS under Solaris, does Oracle provides the Cluster Manager software (or) we should use Veritas / any Cluster software to run ?

    Thanks

    Arrow OPS

    Sridhar,

I don't think so...clustering is more of an OS related..
I think you have a fair idea of what to use..( Veritas) ..Also you could look into Sun Clustering 3.0

FYI Oracle does provide you a GUI to work with table etc on cluster enviroment etc...( Oracle Management server )

    hope this helps...

    Good Luck

Oracle does not provide the cluster manager since its a function of the OS. I think that the sun clustering software is a repackaged version of veritas.

Some one correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you guys.. I am just curious about how in the real-world, OPS is configured under Solaris.

Sun Cluster is more towards High availability . meaning, the second node on the cluster take over the primary during primary's failure.

But in OPS, all the nodes need to be (supposed to be) operational and all of them access the database. Is there any software that need to be used inbetween Solaris & Oracle.

Correct me if I am wrong in the concept of OPS.

    Thanks
